In March 2012, Delta introduced the Basic Economy Fares (E class of service) which would positively effect your pocket book but restrict your frequent traveler Benefits among other restrictions. These fares do not allow changes and do not allow a pre-assigned seating assignment regardless of Airline Status. These fares would be ideal for those passengers that are looking for the lowest fare, do not intent to make changes to their flight, or do not consider choosing their seat at time of booking a large part of their air travel experience.

SECURE FLIGHT OVERVIEW – Phase 2 of the Secure Flight program is now in effect.

Beginning November 1, 2010, passenger reservations without full Secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD) will be rejected by the TSA’s Secure Flight rule and will not be processed. As a reminder, the TSA requires the full name, date of birth and gender, as it appears on their non-expired government issued photo ID they plan to use for travel identification, for all passengers flying to/from/within/over the United States, and for all U.S. Operating Carriers.
